Comments : The Centre of Environmental Studies has a System of quality assurance based on ISO-NC 17025. Their tests have been credited by the Office National of Accreditation since 1998 and recognized by the International Agency of Atomic Energy (as a result of the project ARCAL-OIEA XXVI) to offer analytical services in the Central America and the Caribbean Region. As part of the project of technical assistance CUB7006 of the International Agency of Atomic Energy for the biennium 2005-2006 for strengtening the national analytical capacities to analyse POPs in the Cuban marine ecosystem and the inventory of its sources. The main actions to be developed under this project are the acquisition of GC-MS from the company AGILET and the training of two specialists on the quantification of POPs in environmental matrices. Such training were organized in the Marine Environmental Laboratory of Monaco and in the Environmental Research Center of ENEA-Cassacia, Italy.
